Visionary Soap is a soap and body care company whose whole range now carries the Fairtrade Mark. Our company has been entirely dedicated to fair trade since the business’ inception in May 2005. Our products consist of an organic body care range handcrafted by us here in the UK while incorporating ingredients from producers in Palestine, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic, Sri Lanka and South Africa. We are based in Hastings, East Sussex.
Among the first pioneering body care companies to use Fairtrade certified ingredients, all of our products – 37 in total – have now been licensed by the Fairtrade Foundation. Furthermore, all of our products have been specifically formulated to contain a veryhigh percentage of Fairtrade ingredients, well above the minimum set requirement of 2% for a wash off and 5% for a leave on product. Our soaps, on average, will soon contain 57% Fairtrade ingredients (up from 27% with the new certification of Fairtrade coconut oil). Our body butters contain 99 to 100%, lip balms - 34%, bath & body oils - 19% and our gardener’s hand salve – 34%. New products are also on the horizon.
Our vision is simple and straight forward - to produce premium quality products that people enjoy while at the same time incorporating values of social responsibility, environmental sustainability and holistic wellbeing. We believe in empowering communities through Fairtrade, contributing to our local economy and offering a luxurious yet down to earth option when it comes to bodycare.
None of our products contain synthetic dyes or fragrances, parabens, petroleum-based ingredients, palm oil, alcohol, sodium laureth sulfate or animal products. They are simply made with the finest vegetable oils, butters, essential oils and botanicals. All products have been safety assessed and comply with current EU regulations as well as being fully certified by The Vegan Society and, of course, are cruelty-free. We are members of the Women’s Environmental Network and Soil Association certification is planned for 2010.
We supply many independent retailers as well as Oxfam, who sell our products in their shops across the UK. We also have an increasing number of stockists further afield in Canada, the U.S., Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, Finland, Japan and the United Arab Emirates.
